The role

As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will work with interdisciplinary teams and experience how technology and team spirit create innovative solutions. You will collaborate closely with clients to develop, test, and deliver products that meet their needs. At Zühlke, you’ll work across a wide range of systems, competencies, technologies, and industries. Alongside modern C++ and C, we also use technologies like Rust, Embedded Linux, and Zephyr OS. Take ownership of the full development lifecycle – from requirements and architecturethrough implementation and testing.

Design and develop sophisticated embedded systems at the intersection of electronics,real-time performance, and user interaction.

Apply your expertise in developing embedded software to build robust, efficient, andmaintainable solutions – optimising memory and performance where it matters most.

Contribute to system-level decisions, balancing security, performance, and usability.

Lead and mentor embedded software engineers within projects, ensuring technical excel-lence and team growth.

Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, blending agile practices with the rigour ofregulated environments

What`s important to us

Degree (FH, University, ETH) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related – plusseveral years’ professional experience in embedded software engineering.

Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, with experience in Linux or RTOS envi-ronments.

Familiar with tools such as Git, CI/CD Pipelines, debugging environments, Yocto, Dockerand with scripting in Python.

Security expertise or experience with Rust programming is a welcome plus.

Solid knowledge of requirements engineering, UML, design patterns, and unit testing –you care as much about architecture and quality as you do about code.

Proactive, communicative, and comfortable taking responsibility in complex projects.

Fluent in German and English
